I had a very sever sprain in my early 20s, took months to heal but after that living an active lifestyle I never had another issue. Fast forward 4 decades and I can tell you that it is true that old injury’s come back to haunt us. My ankle is weak and prone to twisting, i recently did a number on it. I tried a few braces and they were better than nothing but always lacking in build quality of ability to restrict movement. I purchased the predecessor to this version a year ago and found it to be of very high quality construction and restricts movement very well. The issue was lacing and unlacing these took time so when I saw this updated version with the speed lace system I had to try it. I’m not disappointed at all, the function and quality is as high as the early model but it is definitely easier to put on and take off.If this is your first brace purchase I highly recommend this brace. my dad had two things he would always say about product selection (he was a design engineer) “buy once, cry once” and ” cheap is expensive”. I have found both to be very true.

Get The Right Size
I’m giving this 3 stars because it does keep my ankle from rolling. However, I have large calf muscles so the upper part it tight while I end up with excess material in the heel that make shoes uncomfortable after a while.

I am a farmer on uneven ground. Months ago I twisted my ankle and had it x-rayed, it’s a sprain. They wrapped it with a bandage and sent me on my way. After a few weeks, I started trying different braces, and what a disaster. No support, I kept rolling my ankle again. A friend told me about this brace and I looked it up. It was quite expensive so I tried some look-a-likes. What a waste of time. So glad Amazon lets you return things that don’t work or are just plain uncomfortable to wear, or that I couldn’t wear with a shoe on. This brace is a bit bulky with shoes but it works with both my sneakers and some of my boots. I am stepping in holes and yes it does have some give, and I can feel it, for the most part, it really makes a huge difference. I can run and chase my goats with it too. I do wish I had bought the smaller one because my swelling has gone down and now it is a bit big.Try it, it is really worth the extra money and getting the right thing the first try.

Great ankle brace . . . Ordering page size selection problem & terrible delivery driver . . .
These braces are great . . . However, Item shipped was wrong size due to inconsistency in size selection presentation on web page . . . Last item in list was assumed to be XXL with overnight shipping but inexplicably turned out to be MED size . . .Delivery driver backed over a T-post trying to turn around when there was a loop drive for that purpose & then left the package out at my double door garage/shop instead of at my house . . . I didn’t find it until I started tracing the tracks from running over my fence post blocking access to a sensitive area which was also run over . . .Not too good especially since it was the wrong size anyway . . .
