So far so good for a teen that abuses his stuff.
My young one, also in college, is a workout beast. He was looking for a bag to carry his workout gear and his school supplies (laptop, books, etc.). He seems to enjoy this bag. He likes best that he can keep his sweaty gear in a separated compartment until he gets home separate from his other belongings. The bag is just huge. It appears to be a solid piece of gear. He is rough on things, usually just thrown in his trunk with his work tools, and it is taking the abuse. Pretty decent bag for the money. No regrets yet with this bag. I will update when/if it tears up. I don’t expect great things these days. I just want something that will last. Time will tell.

Perfect for use as luggage for short trips, but light enough for hiking. Excellent overall.
Excellent – the most storage I’ve ever seen in a backpack. It also has extra straps and connection points like a carabiner. There is even a center chest strap to hold it in place when it is loaded up heavy. Very adjustable – can accommodate several large items with expandable pockets on inside.,This is perfect for what I use a backpack for. Mostly as luggage when I go on short trips. All the compartments means I can keep dirty clothes from clean, pockets for toiletries, computers, electronic devices, etc. Even shoes. It also has external USB and analog audio cable if you wanted to have a musical device inside. For other occasions, it’s not too heavy. The compartments are there when you need them, but collapsible otherwise.Overall quality seems OK for the price you pay. Other reviewers have noted the zipper quality not being good. I had that concern also, as every zipper was in the middle of it’s travel with both sides not connected. But easily fixed by cycling the zipper open and closed. Once I did that, the zipper functions fine. I think they were all like that on purpose during shipping. Only time will tell if the zipper becomes a problem, but so far no issue.I love large backpacks like these that are normal for everyday use, but can accommodate carrying large items if needed. Nice have all the extra straps for security.

Good for carry-on that gives you extra space after you arrive at your destination.
Avery good travel backpack. The size is as described and the 80L bag fits the 22x14x9 size permitted by most airlines as a carry-on bag, BUT NOT WITH THE EXPANSION OPENED. Huge storage capacity with lots of pockets that allow for versatile usage. The external USB connection also has an audio jack which is not mentioned or shown in the listing. Saying this is waterproof is a bit of an overstatement for sure. Water resistant at best would be more appropriate. The shell is just normal nylon with no rubber coating, and the zippers are not waterproof zippers. I have yet to understand what the strap with the carabiner is intended for, but I guess you can strap something like a bike helmet to it.

An average backpack with pretty normal features, some materials feel a little thin.
This backpack seems fine. It doesn’t strike me as a high quality pack, but it seems pretty average. Some of the inner materials feel like a thin raincoat and I’d worry about tears and probably wouldn’t fully trust it with too much weight. I personally had 3 of the zippers pulling open and off track, but they corrected themselves after open/close a few times. The back straps where it is worn also has a small cross strap that would buckle across your chest to help load balancing and to keep it more secure against your body. There are multiple pockets, and inside the front “small” pocket there’s a keyring lanyard which is always handy, and a few precut sized inserts. The “shoe” compartment almost feels like a gimmick, it is just a zipper compartment at the bottom that uses the same cheap feeling material, and there is no hard structure to it and it billows into the main compartment in the backpack, so if you put shoes inside they will be isolated from the main storage, but it also takes up part of the room inside. So I guess that’s a good and bad thing, it doesn’t subtract any storage space if you don’t put shoes in it, but it is going to add weird bulk at the bottom if you do since it doesn’t have any type of rigid separated compartment for them. One other thing of note, this does have an expansion zipper, it can be unzipped and the pack gains a few inches in width, similar to how most suitcases have a zipper expansion to allow it to be a little more compact or fully expanded with a few more inches of width for extra storage. The outside has a handful of neat features; there are pockets on both sides of it that could hold water bottles with a strap to help keep them from flopping out (I’ve had that happen with other bags with no straps if the pack is crammed full). There is also an included passthrough USB port to use for charging and a passthrough port for headphones, so you can connect a battery block inside and/or an ipod/mp3 device inside and still connect to it from the outside of the bag. As with most passthrough plugs like this, I’d always opt to connect directly to a device, but it seems like a handy option while traveling especially, to keep your battery/players more secure inside your bag. There is a small sleeve inside to fit a laptop, I’d like to see more cushion in the pocket though. There’s a small zipper compartment on the back bottom too, it is just a thin pocket so it won’t hold much. When I travel, I put things like travel packs of facial tissues, pens, flashlights or other small things that can withstand some pressure and not at risk of being damaged by the bulk of the other items inside.Overall, it seems like a fine pack, but with some of the cheaper feeling materials, and immediate issues of reversed zippers, I’d say there are certainly higher quality more rugged packs if a person were to be doing anything in adverse conditions or carrying large amounts of weight. To me this pack is “taller” than most that I’ve used, and not as “thick” so keep that in mind. Volume of course, doesn’t matter about height vs weight, but just visually at first it seemed really big, but it is tall and thin instead of short and fat. When first listed, this was showing as being over $70, and looks to be around $40-$50 now which I would say is a more fair price for the size and quality.

Good solid travel backpack with tons of storage and useful features
This is a great laptop / travel back. Waterproof too – super practical in our PNW rainy weather. It’s surprisingly spacious and could double as a carry‑on or day‑trip bag too. There are tons of pockets along with the main compartment so you can separate your clothes, shoes, toiletries, and electronics from each other. The dedicated shoe compartment is also handy for gym gear or to keep dirty stuff away from everything else. The zippers have good action and expansion is available. Straps are nicely padded and solid. Outside pockets for water bottles too. The external USB passthroughs are nice extras for charging while traveling. This is more of a commuter travel or day-trip bag versus a hiking excursion backpack. But overall it’s a good backpack and functions as expected
