What makes this lifting strap different from others on the market?
The Gymreapers strap features a built-in dowel that anchors your grip to the bar, reducing slip and fatigue—especially during heavy or high-rep pulling sessions.
Is the wrist padding comfortable during long strength training sessions?
Absolutely. We use dense 7mm closed-cell foam (not neoprene) to cushion your wrist without shifting or irritating the skin.
How do I use the dowel lifting straps?
Thread the strap through the ring and secure around your wrist. Place the dowel across your palm, then wrap the strap under and around the bar. As you grip, the dowel anchors the bar, locking your hold for a secure lift.
Are these straps good for deadlifts and heavy pulling?
Yes—these were specifically designed for heavy pulling movements. The dowel locks into the bar so you don’t have to over-grip, reducing fatigue and letting you focus on your pull.
How long do the straps last with heavy use?
Built with 38mm webbing, reinforced stitching, and a closed dowel design, these straps are made for years of high-volume training.

Good straps from a good brand.
Different straps for different people, these are the first style I have used and I think these might be my preference.Gymreaper is a known brand for its functionality, durability, and overall value. The padding is soft and after surgeries this helps my grip strength to get to the higher weights. I would say these have a good weight capacity.

Excellent Quality, Great Feel, and Amazing Value for Money
These Gymreapers lifting straps are amazing! The quality is really top-notch—the reinforced stitching, solid dowel design, and sturdy materials make them sound and safe-feeling very reliable heavy lifts. They enable a firm grip and thus, the control of the deadlift, rows, and other pulling movements is immediately enhanced. The fit and feel are great. The padding is nice to the wrists, and the straps do not slip or dig even if you are doing a long workout. Everything with them is like the creators have thought it through and made it for longevity. These straps are very easy to use!If you measure the worth of the straps only by their price, then these Gymreapers are exceptionally good. They work just as well (maybe even better) as more expensive brands. To anyone who is serious about strength training, I would give my greatest recommendation! Great value for money

Great quality, good performance, highly recommend.
I’ve used many other Gym Reaper products and they are all very high quality. I used these today in the gym for shoulder and back.Construction: As expected of Gym Reaper, they are made very well. The neoprene wrist wrap is fairly thick and adequate length to wrap around my entire wrist ( I wear medium/large size for reference). The Velcro closure strap is also a decent length which allows for it to wrap around the entire wrist which aids in the securing the straps tightly as well as adding support when used in pushing movements. I like that is wraps around the entire wrist because one of the flaws of other similar products is the closure strap tends to be fairly short which can be a failure point. Another good thing about the closure strap is that the Velcro seems very sturdy and high quality. This is also another failure point for lesser quality straps because over time, the Velcro will loosen causing the strap to come off during heavy load. The actual strap itself is good quality. This is the first time I’ve used this “hybrid” type lifting strap with a traditional strap and neoprene wrist wrap. I’ve used the other style that has a leather/synthetic paddle style strap like the versa gripps and the old school loop around the wrist straps. This removes the discomfort of traditional straps digging into the wrist under heavy load as well as giving you additional grip with the added length of the strap instead of the paddle. The added feature of the dowel was also a new experience for me but not necessarily new technology. The dowel is sewn into the end loop of the strap which seems secure and I don’t anticipate it coming out as long as you are not reckless with your equipment. This may be a “con” based on my experience but I will elaborate.Performance: In use I really like how well they performed today. I purposely used it in all of my exercises regardless of what it was with the intention of see how it performed for me. I wanted to test out the feel the grip, the tension on my wrist from the cuff as well as how it assisted in my movements. It took a minute to fine tune the fit to ensure it wasn’t too tight or too loose. The cuff felt good and secure once I found the right fit. I didn’t notice any issues with the Velcro coming undone The length of the strap allowed me to get a good snug fit on all machines and when done properly, this performed excellent. As intended, I noticed less strain on my grip and use of the forearm for pulling exercises. I was able to isolate the specific muscle groups without much emphasis on support muscles. The procedure of wrapping the strap is where I started to notice some issues especially with the dowel.Issues: With any strap you can either wrap over hand or under hand. How you wrap the strap will dictate the placement of the dowel. The issue I ran into was if not wrapped properly, the dowel will be placed in an awkward place such as at your finger tips instead of near your palm will hinder your grip. I found myself having to wrap and rewrap to get the right placement which was kind of irritating. This may also be a “me thing” but if you are using the strap for pushing movements such as bench or overhead presses, if the dowel is placed between the bar and the palm, it can be pretty painful. Not sure if pressing movements are the best use case for these straps but if you are running a full body circuit and don’t want to have to take on and off the straps, you may be forced into this situation. This is the con I mentioned could be. The dowel can’t be removed without it being cut out and if you aren’t into modifying your gear then this could be an issue.Overall I really like these straps and I intend to use them as my everyday straps. I would highly recommend these to anyone who is serious about lifting and looking for a quality product. Although I just got them, if they are anything like other Gym Reaper products, they should last a pretty long time. You may just need to take some time to figure out the best way to use them so you don’t run into any issues.

Safer than straps with metal hooks…READ before buying one.
I prefer this style of strapping (when needing support with grip) because it is safer than with metal hooks regardless of their shape. This doesn’t remove entirely you having to grip a bar so when you need to bail from a lift you just have to let go and the strap will disengage releasing the bar. However, with straps that utilize a metal hook of any type you holding on at all isn’t even necessary and the problem here is if you need to disengage the bar you won’t be able to… I really believe that when it comes to utilizing a strap that you use is metal hooks that it is a case-by-case thing where an exit plan is developed based on the conditions and optics of the lift being performed. GymReaper Lifting Straps, have been the most comfortable straps I’ve used. It doesn’t have so much padding that it interferes with your connection to the bar. The 11 in is very generous making it useful for a lot of specialty bars, handle grips with Pull-Ups, and pretty much any functional trainer attachment. For straps under $50… I haven’t found anything with as much value… quality in the material (tensile strength), design in the strap (11 inch), and resistance to: moisture, rot, mildew, acids, oil, and grease, and good UV protection as a bonus. For people unfamiliar with the material these straps are made… Here’s a quick benefit summary:polypropylene webbing is a synthetic material that that not only delivers a higher tensile strength compared to standard straps but it’s also resistance to water, UV rays, mildew, mold, and bacteria growth, which in the world of commercial and home gym equipment are the usual suspects to damaging your investment in equipment and accessories.
